Registered Nurse (RN) | Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma Location: Macon, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,766 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Macon, Georgia, 31201! Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department RN experience License: BLS (Basic Life Support) required Certifications: BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) required Must-Have: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, National certification in Emergency nursing preferred but not required Description: This position is for an RN in the Emergency Department. The facility has 637 licensed beds and a Level 1 Trauma Designation. It is also a teaching hospital, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center. The unit has 61 beds plus surge beds. The patient census is typically 61 or more. Patient types and common diagnoses include chest pain, strokes, diabetes, abdominal pain, motor vehicle collisions, hypertension, stabbings, and mental health issues. Patient ratios are typically 1 RN to 4 patients, depending on the assigned zone. LPN support is 1 LPN to 4 patients if applicable. CNA support includes 4-6 techs per shift assisting with vital signs, glucose checks, baths, feeding, ambulating patients, hourly rounding, and transporting patients as needed. Phlebotomy services are available, and there is a designated transport team for patient transfers. The department has a charge nurse, unit secretary, and respiratory therapists on duty 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is available, and the unit uses a central telemetry system. Technology and equipment include EMR, IV pumps, medication dispensing units, cardiac telemetry monitors, portable vital signs monitors, PCA pain management systems, bladder scanners, and rapid infusers. Travelers will be required to pass an EKG competency exam. Weekend rotation will involve 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 on a 6-week schedule. Holiday expectations include working one shift on each major holiday. Requests for time off require manager approval. The unit culture is characterized as busy but supportive, with teamwork emphasized.
