Opportunity Snapshot: Location: Jonesboro, GA (South Metro Atlanta) Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – Pain Management Contract Type: Locum Tenens Start Date: ASAP End Date: 03/31/2026 Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week Setting: Outpatient pain management clinic within a comprehensive medical center EMR: Epic Call: None Pain Management Practice Environment This is an outpatient pain management practice within a well-resourced comprehensive medical center. Providers manage a diverse patient population with acute and chronic pain conditions, working collaboratively with physicians and support staff in a structured clinical environment. The focus is on scheduled clinical hours with no inpatient, on-call, or weekend responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Include: Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions in an outpatient setting Perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and adjust therapies as indicated Order, interpret, and evaluate appropriate diagnostic tests and lab work Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances, per established protocols Educate patients on pain management strategies, treatment options, and expected outcomes Collaborate with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary care teams Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic EMR Participate in quality improvement and clinical outcome initiatives Candidate Requirements: Required: Active, unrestricted Georgia NP or PA license Board certified or board eligible Pain management experience required Epic EMR proficiency preferred Preferred: Dedicated pain management subspecialty experience Prior locum tenens or contract assignment experience Experience in a high-volume outpatient clinical setting Skills & Abilities: Strong clinical assessment and chronic pain management skills Comfortable working independently in an outpatient pain management environment Excellent communication and patient education skills Able to manage a full patient schedule during standard clinic hours Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices Why This Assignment?
