NIHSS, ACLS, BLS, CCRN Must-Have: - Previous charge experience
preferred - Patient ratio experience of 2-3 - Experience with
charting system required Description: This position involves caring
for critically ill medical and surgical patients. Patient
conditions may include sepsis, cardiac arrest, cardiovascular
disease, respiratory failure, alcohol or drug overdose, withdrawal,
post-operative surgical care, gastrointestinal bleeding,
end-of-life comfort care, and complications from COVID-19. The ICU
consists of a split unit, totaling 12 beds across two floors.
Higher acuity patients are placed upstairs with a staffing ratio of
3 nurses to 6 patients (1:2 ratio). Lower acuity patients are
treated on the first floor with a staffing ratio of 2 nurses and 1
PCT to 6 patients (1:3 ratio). Weekend shifts will be required
every other weekend. No on-call shifts are necessary for this
position. Floating within the facility, based on scope of practice,
may be required. Compliance with all requirements is mandatory to
ensure timely start. Travelers may be expected to work on major
holidays that occur during their assignment period.
Interdisciplinary support is provided by various departments
including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Staffing ratios during nights and weekends will be maintained at 2
patients per nurse. Additional support staff will assist in patient
care as needed. Experience in handling high acuity patients and
familiarity with necessary skills is essential. 5 Benefits of
