Job Summary
The food service equipment technician performs various functions to
keep Georgia Tech's dining program commercial kitchens running
smoothly. The food service equipment technician will be responsible
for maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing a large
inventory of electric, gas and refrigeration commercial food
service equipment and appliances.
This position will interact on a regular basis primarily with staff
and vendors associated with Tech Dining.
This position will primarily advise and counsel dining staff and
other facilities personnel.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Perform preventative maintenance on food service and refrigeration
equipment as well as scheduled predictive maintenance checks
following manufacturer's recommendation and/or as assigned by the
supervisor.
Job Duty 2 -
Carry out installations of new equipment. Perform repairs and
maintenance duties on a wide variety of food service and
refrigeration equipment such as walk-in freezers, industrial-sized
steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, dishwashers, fryers,
stoves, ovens, and grills.
Job Duty 3 -
Carry out periodic inspection, cleaning, and equipment
servicing.
Job Duty 4 -
Interpret equipment manuals for proper training, care, and
maintenance of equipment.
Job Duty 5 -
Attend quickly to emergency calls on equipment repair issues, as
well as to after-hour work calls.
Job Duty 6 -
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma/GED or Vocational School Diploma.
Required Experience
Three to five years of job-related experience.
Proposed Salary
Recruiting Range: (36,476.00 - 62,738.00) Based on experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
Must have a valid Driver's License. The ability to read instruction
manuals for specialty equipment and apply instructions to equipment
on hand. Requires basic knowledge of refrigeration equipment,
commercial ovens, commercial dishwashers, and commercial ice
machines. Must be able to work a very flexible schedule.
