Title: GIS Specialist
Location: Atlanta, GA 30346
Duration: 12 months



A POC will provide guidance for work prioritization, but candidate is responsible for working with team to complete work in a timely manner.

They'll spend a 75-90% of time in the field in varying conditions

Good communication

Coming up with engineering designs in the field and translating that back to team not in the field

Joint use program, fiber design

Supporting client with GIS data collection and in-field make ready design, including post-inspecting construction. Each pole that is assigned for fielding could be reviewed in field multiple times.

Experience in Joint use, Telecom, distribution, and identifying electric and communication facilities is a plus as this will be a major component of the position.

Must understand or be willing to learn concepts such as NESC Standards, GPC Standards, Make ready construction

Work as member of Joint USE/Fiber Make Ready Team to do in-field GIS data collection and make educated in-field design suggestions based on field data collected. Work environment will be 85% in-field. This job will be a great first step into electric distribution and will provide a valuable foundation for a career in the power delivery industry.

Team member will use a telescoping hasting stick as well as digital measuring technologies to measure Joint Use attachment heights & utility-owned distribution lines/attachments. Field data will be collected using Clients proprietary software to update utilities GIS and make design determinations. Team member may need to keep rental car overnight or for extended periods. Must be able to manage using the hasting stick with no issue and be in varying field conditions for multiple hours per day.

Experience using Esri's ArcGIS suite or other GIS software required. In-field experience preferred.
